How does a consignment arrangement work?

Consignment is an arrangement in which goods are left with a third party to sell. The party that sells the goods on consignment receives a portion of the profits, either as a flat rate fee or commission. Selling via a consignment arrangement can be a low-commission, low-time-investment way of selling items or services.

What is the risk of loss in a consignment agreement?

Risk of loss or damage: The agreement should clearly define who bears the risk of loss or damage while the goods are in the consignee's possession. Typically, the consignee is held responsible for any loss or damage to the goods during the consignment pe.

What is TERM and Cost of a consignment agreement?

AYDIAR consignment agreements are written in term length for 16 months. AYDIAR consignment agreements are contracted beginning at 30% and negotiated lower based on the estimate of the collection’s total sale worth. All collections $10000 or below are 30% $17500 and below 25% $25000 and below 20%. All Consignment’s over $25000 are agreed to percentages in contract by consignor and AYDIAR. All Consignment’s over $25000 contain an increasing scale. For example, 12% standard and then at $75000 and up 13% $100000 and up 14% $125000 and anything upward to infinity 15%. As the collection grows in value it is due to the extra hard work and proper product knowledge and proper product placement whether its public auction private auction social media marketplaces etc. It is only fair that once contracted we share in the wealth that we help create for our consignors which is a learned skill from 30 plus years in the industry of collectibles across all segments.
